English Voice Coach for AI Training

Lead the human side of voice model training by directing, assessing, and coaching AI-generated English speech to ensure authentic, accurate, and expressive performances across accents and regional dialects. You will work with developers and designers to improve synthesis through detailed feedback, documented best practices, and hands-on pilot sessions. No prior AI experience is required; domain expertise in voice coaching and dialects is the priority. You will join micro1, an AI data lab that converts real-world expertise into training data and evaluations to improve frontier models.

• Direct and evaluate AI-generated voice performances for accuracy, authenticity, and emotional range.
• Provide specialist guidance on accents and regional dialects to inform model outputs.
• Collaborate with AI developers and product designers to refine voice synthesis algorithms and training datasets.
• Create and document best practices for pronunciation, vocal modulation, timing, and emotional delivery.
• Supply real-time, actionable feedback and improvement strategies to coach AI systems and voice outputs.
• Produce detailed written and verbal analyses of voice samples and project progress.
• Participate in focused, intensive mini-pilot sessions to validate and elevate audio quality to professional standards.

• Proven professional experience as a voice coach, with demonstrable work in voice acting, directing, or dialect coaching.
• Expertise in voice directing for audio or media projects.
• Strong understanding of phonetics, speech patterns, and linguistic nuance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to give precise, actionable feedback in high-pressure, fast-paced pilot projects.
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Enthusiasm for innovation in AI-powered voice technology.
• No prior AI experience required.

• Experience coaching or consulting on AI voice synthesis or related projects.
• Familiarity with audio description, accessibility-focused audio, or educational content production.
• Background in linguistics, speech pathology, or a related field.

• Pay range: $30 - $65 per hour.
