Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant supports the Accounting team by accurately entering billing, payment, and reconciliation data while helping maintain the integrity of financial records. This role reviews reports, spreadsheets, and documents for completeness and accuracy, identifies discrepancies and trends that require follow up, and prepares and maintains spreadsheets for basic reporting and trend analysis. Responsibilities

• Enter billing, payment, and reconciliation data accurately into accounting systems.
• Review financial reports, spreadsheets, and documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify discrepancies, duplicate records, and missing information in financial data.
• Document and track follow-up actions related to discrepancies and data issues.
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets to support accounting operations and reporting.
• Assist with basic reporting and trend analysis to support decision-making.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Work efficiently in a high-volume accounting environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Navigate and use multiple applications and systems to complete daily tasks.
• Collaborate with the Accounting team and follow established procedures and controls.

Essential Skills

• Experience supporting Accounting and Finance functions.
• Hands-on accounts payable (AP) experience.
• Hands-on accounts receivable (AR) experience.
• Ability to review reports and spreadsheets and identify discrepancies and errors.
• Experience documenting follow-up actions related to financial data issues.
• Comfort learning new systems and navigating multiple applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume accounting environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and reporting.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
