- Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using a blend of standardized measures and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment strategies aimed at fulfilling both immediate objectives and enduring communication or swallowing needs.
- Implement targeted speech therapy interventions that encompass a spectrum of areas including communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage in teamwork with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to craft unified care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to encourage progress and understanding outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally contribute to inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring comprehensive care throughout the therapeutic timeline.
- Maintain clear and precise documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Advance your expertise by staying up-to-date with the latest trends and research in the field through ongoing education and collaborative learning.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if still in the process of obtaining ASHA certification.
- Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred holding of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the initial 30 days of employment.
- Solid understanding of evidence-based practices across all ages, emphasizing both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, family members, and interdisciplinary partners.
