- Conduct assessments on patients spanning from the pediatric to geriatric populations by utilizing both observational and standardized methods.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that align with both immediate and long-range communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Engage in direct speech therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to create cohesive treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to facilitate improvement in communication outside of clinical settings.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring seamless transitions throughout the care process.
- Maintain precise and timely patient records in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaborative learning.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic practices for all age groups, with deep knowledge of developmental and acquired disorders affecting speech, language, and swallowing.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and a multi-disciplinary team.
- Adaptability to address varied cultural and linguistic needs within therapy approaches.
