Role Description The Lead Recruiter is a full-time, hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for owning the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and guiding candidates through offer and onboarding stages across technical and non-technical roles. Day-to-day responsibilities include partnering with leadership to define hiring needs, designing and improving recruiting processes, and maintaining a strong pipeline of diverse, high-caliber candidates. The Lead Recruiter will manage employer branding initiatives, build relationships with external partners and talent communities, and use data to refine hiring strategies. This role also involves coaching hiring managers on best practices, ensuring an inclusive and equitable selection process, and contributing to broader people and culture initiatives in a fast-paced startup environment. Qualifications Experience leading full-cycle recruiting for technical, product, and business roles, ideally in startup or high-growth technology environments. Proficiency with sourcing tools and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, talent networks, referrals) and applicant tracking systems (ATS). Strong skills in candidate assessment, structured interviewing, and competency-based evaluation to ensure fair and consistent hiring decisions. Ability to build and execute recruiting strategies, including workforce planning, talent market research, and pipeline development. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience designing inclusive job requirements and interview processes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with candidates, hiring managers, and executive stakeholders. Comfort working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and prioritizing multiple searches and projects concurrently. Experience in AI, software, or deep-tech recruiting is highly beneficial; familiarity with roles such as machine learning engineers and product leaders is a plus. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in human resources, business, or related fields.
