Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required. Patient ratios 1:5-6.

Highlights:

• Specialized Ortho/Neuro Trauma unit caring for patients with severe bone, joint, soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries
• Epic documentation system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
• 28 hours total orientation (12 hours unit-specific, 16 hours organizational education)
• 13-week assignment with floating to similar units as needed
• Advanced skill set required including heparin drips, chest tubes, central line management, tracheostomy care, and blood product administration
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Tele experience within the last 5 years
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, and PICC line management
• Experience with dysrhythmia management, oxygen protocols, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, and wound care
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
