Step into a rewarding educational environment and make a real impact supporting students as a Paraprofessional! This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about making a difference in the lives of K-12 students with special needs. You'll be a key part of the team for the upcoming 2022–2023 school year, assisting in an inclusive, collaborative school setting near Fairfax, VA.
Preferred applicants bring experience as a Paraprofessional or Special Education Teacher and feel comfortable working in both 1:1 and classroom settings with students who have mild to moderate disabilities. If you are ready for a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week and eager to grow your career in special education, this role is for you.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Paraprofessional, especially in special education settings.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
- Dedicated, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting students of varying abilities.
- Must be able to commit to the full 2022-2023 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to provide instructional and behavioral support.
- Implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Assist with academic activities, personal care, and classroom management.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support documentation and progress monitoring under staff guidance.
