About the role The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of high-volume accounts payable transactions across Intersurgical's US operations. This position manages vendor invoices, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and payment activities across multiple business entities. The ideal candidate is an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional who can independently resolve complex discrepancies, manage competing priorities, and contribute to improving processes and internal controls. This is a hands-on, non-supervisory position requiring strong knowledge of accounting and collaboration with domestic and international teams. Key responsibilities Accounts Payable Operations Process high volumes of vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely payment. Perform invoice matching, maintain vendor records, and resolve pricing, payment, and invoice discrepancies. Coordinate ACH, wire, and other vendor payments while monitoring aging reports and outstanding balances. Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements and accounts. Travel & Expense Administration Manage the submission, review, and processing of employee travel expense reports through Concur, ensuring compliance with company policies and expense guidelines. Review expense reports for accuracy, completeness, appropriate account coding, required receipts, and proper approvals. Reconcile Concur expense transactions and related payments to supporting documentation and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed. Monitor outstanding expense report submissions and approvals, following up with employees and managers to ensure timely processing and reimbursement. Support the maintenance and improvement of travel and expense procedures, documentation, and internal controls. Intercompany Accounting and Reconciliations Process and reconcile intercompany invoices, credits, and transactions across US entities and international affiliates. Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies in coordination with domestic and international finance teams. Prepare and support journal entries, accruals, account adjustments, and related documentation. Assist with foreign currency transactions and cross-border payments, as applicable. Month-End Close and Accounting Support Support month-end and year-end closing, including AP-related general ledger reconciliations and accruals. Investigate discrepancies between AP subledgers and general ledger balances. Maintain accurate financial records and provide supporting documentation for audits and reporting. Process Improvement and Collaboration Identify and help resolve aged payables, unapplied credits, outstanding reconciliations, and historical discrepancies. Recommend improvements to AP workflows, ERP processes, documentation, and internal controls. Partner with Purchasing, Receiving, Operations, and Finance to resolve transaction issues. Support departmental improvement initiatives and provide technical assistance to other AP team members. Qualifications Required Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Five or more years of accounts payable or transactional accounting experience, including high-volume invoice processing. Experience with intercompany invoicing, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger transactions. Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with SAP Concur or a similar travel and expense management system. Strong understanding of AP processes, accounting principles, accruals, and financial controls. Ability to independently investigate discrepancies, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a multi-entity organization. Experience with international intercompany transactions and foreign currency payments. Experience supporting month-end close, accounting cleanup, or process improvement initiatives.
