EKG Technician
Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS)
Location: Main Hospital Bldg - 1st Flr
Primary Purpose Performs routine and emergency EKG's per doctor's request to provide a diagnostic tool for diagnosis and treatment. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education/Experience:- Must have completed a Medical Assistant course that includes EKG OR must have six months of experience performing cardio graphic procedures.
- Prefer six months in high volume acute care hospital setting
- May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
- Must be able to identify the proper placement of electrodes for a 12-Lead EKG.
- Must be able to perform 12-Lead EKG.
- Must be able to utilize the MUSE (EKG Management System) for edit of EKGs prior to physician interpretation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of PC operations and the ability to use work processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment in order to monitor its general working condition.
- Utilizes creativity and innovation in attaining desired outcomes.
- Uses a holistic approach and persists when solving problems.
- Works in a highly organized manner, capturing and attending to details as well as the bigger picture.
- Acts with a sense of urgency.
- Synthesizes information and shares with a larger group.
- Works effectively in an ambiguous environment.
