Overview The Peninsula Outpatient Center, located in downtown Burlingame, provides cancer care, an infusion center, comprehensive imaging, outpatient surgery, and lab services. Staffed by UCSF Health providers, the center brings care closer to patients in San Mateo County. Responsibilities Work closely with administrative, clinical, and management teams to support practice operations and enhance customer service. Manage routine clerical operations, including CRM messages, phone encounters, referrals, APeX in‑baskets, scanning, filing, authorizations, and billing. Maintain communication with patients, staff, and providers, adhering to UCSF House and Telephone Standards. Problem‑solve, prioritize, and facilitate complex transactions in daily activities. Provide excellent customer service and ensure accurate information flow between medical, hospital staff, and departments. Be flexible and work at any UCSF campus as required. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent with four years related experience, or college degree with six months related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of fingerprinting protocol and approval to be a cash collector, if applicable. Strong computer skills, including basic keyboarding and experience with at least two office software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to navigate multiple patient record systems. Ability to analyze situations, prioritize, develop solutions, and make recommendations. Ability to work with minimal supervision and under the pressure of deadlines. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, both over the phone and in person. Basic math skills. Strong writing skills, including composing, editing, and proofreading documents. Demonstrated administrative and office coordination skills. Knowledge of medical practice terminology. Within six months of start date, complete proficiency checklist covering: referrals, surgery scheduling, working applicable work queues, entering/editing outside test results, messaging (CRM), secondary calls in CRM, telephone encounters, open encounters, staff messages, new messages, routing patient advice requests (My Chart), patient schedule (My Chart), letters, pools, patient lookup, check‑in and check‑out process, comment field, quick note, scanning.
