Job Title: Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (MA / LPN) Location: Golden Valley, MN Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our collaborative healthcare team. In this role, you will manage patient flow throughout the clinic and assist healthcare providers in delivering individualized, compassionate care across diverse patient populations-including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Working under the direction of the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Supervising Providers, you will perform essential clinical and clerical duties that support daily department operations, maintain patient safety, and drive quality health outcomes. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care & Patient Flow Facilitate smooth clinic flow through standardized patient rooming processes, vital sign collection, and initial intake. Administer immunizations, injections, and other medications as delegated by the supervising provider. Perform laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and basic point-of-care laboratory testing. Assist providers with minor clinical procedures and patient examinations. Clinic Support & Administration Provide phone support, assist with prescription refill requests, and facilitate patient-provider communication. Assist with prior authorizations, scheduling, and front desk check-in/reception duties as needed. Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and ensure clinical supplies are adequately stocked and ordered. Perform basic diagnostic tests (e.g., x-ray procedures) if certified/authorized per state guidelines. Qualifications & Requirements For Medical Assistant Candidates Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent [Required]. MA Credentialing: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (e.g., ABHES or CAAHEP accredited) OR graduate of a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) program (e.g., AMT) with relevant on-the-job experience and a passing score on the RMA Certification exam [Required]. Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification [Required]. For Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Candidates Licensure: Active, unencumbered Practical Nurse (PN) License in the State of Minnesota [Required]. Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification [Required]. Skills & Competencies Strong clinical judgment and adherence to delegated scope of practice rules. Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multidisciplinary teams. Exceptional customer service skills and an empathetic approach to patient care.
