Title: ServiceNow CMDB DevOps Sr. Developer About the role

You will lead the technical design and delivery of VA's ServiceNow CMDB. You will own the CSDM-aligned data model, Discovery and Service Mapping, and the DevOps pipeline that ships CMDB changes, while guiding a team of developers and working with VA configuration managers and security staff. Key responsibilities

• Architect the CMDB data model, CI classes, relationships and lifecycle states in line with CSDM, and lead migration to current CSDM versions.
• Define CMDB governance: IRE and reconciliation rules, data source precedence, CI certification, and CMDB Health KPIs.
• Lead Discovery, Service Mapping and MID Server design across on-premises and cloud (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) environments.
• Design Service Graph Connectors and IntegrationHub/REST integrations with asset, endpoint (SCCM/Intune), cloud and security tools.
• Own the CI/CD pipeline for CMDB work: Git source control, ATF quality gates and automated promotion across instances.
• Develop complex solutions with JavaScript and the Glide API; set coding standards and review other developers' code.
• Lead platform upgrade impact analysis and regression testing.
• Supply accurate CI data for VA change management, vulnerability response and ATO continuous monitoring.
• Mentor developers, produce designs and SOPs, and brief VA stakeholders on CMDB maturity and roadmap.

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience, including 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development.
• 5+ years leading CMDB, Discovery and/or Service Mapping work in a large enterprise or federal environment.
• Expert knowledge of CSDM, IRE, CMDB Health and CMDB governance.
• Strong JavaScript/Glide API skills; experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP and MID Servers.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Git and ATF for ServiceNow.
• Proven technical leadership: code reviews, mentoring and design ownership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field; four additional years of experience may substitute.
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder, able to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust (Tier 2).

Preferred qualifications

• Prior ServiceNow CMDB work for VA or another federal agency; an active Public Trust.
• Both CIS Discovery and CIS Service Mapping, or CIS HAM/SAM.
• Micro-Certification DevOps Change Velocity.
• Experience migrating a legacy CMDB (e.g., Remedy Atrium) to ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53 or ATO continuous monitoring.
