Dairy Clerk

Overview Dairy Clerk is responsible for keeping all store dairy and frozen cases stocked and clean during business hours. The role requires assisting customers, maintaining a friendly, energetic demeanor, and adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Dairy department. Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of dairy cases and storage areas, including sweeping and removing hazardous debris. Stock dairy cases with proper presentation, facing, filling, and organization, ensuring accurate tagging and pricing. Examine dairy rotation, discarding expired or spoiled items. Assist customers with purchases, provide information, and cross‑sell products. Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality. Monitor point‑of‑sale signage and ensure availability of recipe cards, coupons, and promotional materials. Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Use scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products. Show a high level of product knowledge and preparation. Walk the department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary appearance. Perform other duties as assigned. Safety Restrictions (under 18) Using a knife (other than safety cutters) Using a ladder Operating garbage or cardboard compactor Operating any motor/electrically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks) Working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods of time Qualifications At least 16 years of age. Dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Shows mutual respect for others and adheres to Sprouts culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Positive attitude and ability to interact with customers. Good communication skills and ability to follow direction and participate in a team environment. Can perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized. Capable of vertically/horizontally transferring boxes or crates weighing 40‑60 lbs, from 5” to 72” or 62” to 9”, up to a distance of 10 feet, for 6‑50 hours without mechanical assistance. Walks up to 5 miles during an 8‑hour shift. Uses a 2‑step stool to access shelves for up to 1 step per 8 hours. Walks up to 3 miles during an 8‑hour shift. Adheres to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Pay Range $17.40 – $22.60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
