Payroll Specialist

Payroll Manager - Waterbury, CT Our client, a well-established organization headquartered in Waterbury, CT, is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee all aspects of payroll processing, compliance, and reporting for a multi-entity operation. Key Responsibilities * Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and biweekly cycles across multiple entities. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws. * Maintain payroll systems and employee records, including new hires, terminations, and pay changes. * Prepare and file payroll tax returns; reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies. * Partner with HR and Finance to support audits, reporting, and budgeting activities. * Lead process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls. * Supervise and mentor payroll staff (if applicable). Qualifications * 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including management or lead-level responsibility. * Strong knowledge of payroll laws and multi-state regulations. * Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, or Paychex. * Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
