Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for an ongoing, full-time Urgent Care locum tenens opportunity across the Austin, Texas market.

If you've built your clinical foundation in the Emergency Department or high-volume Urgent Care but are ready for a different rhythm, this opportunity offers a compelling way to keep practicing hands-on acute medicine without leaving the skills you've worked hard to develop behind.

You'll continue evaluating undifferentiated patients, treating acute illness and injury, caring for adults and children, and performing the procedures that make Urgent Care clinically engaging—but within an outpatient practice model spanning multiple Austin-area clinics .

This isn't a fixed Monday-through-Friday desk job, and we're not going to advertise it as one. The advantage is different: multiple clinic locations, 7-, 8-, 12- and 15-hour shift structures, seven-day operations, and an ongoing full-time need create considerably more ways to build coverage than a traditional single-site schedule.

This opportunity is designed for experienced clinicians who still enjoy evaluating acute illness, treating injuries, performing procedures and making independent clinical decisions , but are interested in moving that skill set into an outpatient Urgent Care environment.

For an experienced ER clinician, that can mean continuing to use a broad clinical skill set while transitioning away from the hospital-based emergency medicine environment.

For an experienced Urgent Care clinician, it provides an opportunity to build an ongoing locums schedule across an established Austin-area clinic network.

Clinical Scope

Providers should be prepared to manage a full-spectrum Urgent Care population , including adult and pediatric patients beginning at 3 months of age.

Clinical responsibilities include:

• Evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses
• Evaluation and treatment of minor injuries
• Adult Urgent Care
• Pediatric Urgent Care
• Appropriate diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning
• Full-scope Urgent Care procedures within provider competency
• Occupational health encounters as assigned
• Patient education and follow-up planning
• Referral or escalation of patients requiring a higher level of care
• Practice Velocity documentation

This is a hands-on clinical role for providers who are comfortable managing the breadth and pace of an established Urgent Care practice.

One Austin Market. Multiple Clinics.

Providers will float among participating clinics across the greater Austin market, including coverage in:

• North Austin
• South Austin
• Southpark Meadows
• North Kyle
• Manor
• Lockhart

Rather than being tied to the staffing needs of one clinic, providers become part of a regional coverage model supporting multiple locations.

For clinicians who value variety, this creates exposure to different patient populations and clinic environments while remaining within one Austin-area practice network.

Schedule

The practice operates seven days per week with several shift structures available:

• 7-Hour Shifts
• 8-Hour Shifts
• 12-Hour Shifts
• 15-Hour Shifts
• Weekend availability is required
• Providers must be comfortable floating among participating clinics
• Exact schedules are coordinated according to coverage needs

The range of shift lengths creates multiple ways to structure full-time hours rather than forcing every provider into the same daily schedule.

Who We're Seeking

This is not an entry-level Urgent Care opportunity .

Candidates should bring substantial recent experience managing acute patients and be comfortable stepping into a broad outpatient clinical environment.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Texas professional license
• Active Texas DEA
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience
• Comfortable treating patients 3 months of age and older
• Comfortable with a full-spectrum Urgent Care clinical scope
• Strong acute assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfortable performing common Urgent Care procedures
• Comfortable working across multiple Austin-area clinics
• Weekend availability
