Remote Payroll Assistant

Montana Land Homes Realty is a Montana-based real estate company dedicated to helping clients buy and sell properties throughout Montana. Our family team brings more than 23 years of Montana real estate experience and specializes in residential homes, agricultural and raw land, hunting and recreational properties, and sites for new construction.

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Remote Payroll Assistant to join our growing team and provide administrative support for payroll and related financial tasks.

Position Summary

The Entry-Level Payroll Assistant will assist with maintaining accurate payroll records, processing employee information, tracking hours and time-off records, and supporting general administrative and accounting functions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, trustworthy, comfortable working with numbers, and interested in developing a career in payroll, accounting, or business administration.

Because this is a remote position , the successful candidate must be self-motivated, responsive, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining regular communication with the Montana Land Homes Realty team.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Assist with preparing and processing employee payroll.



• 
  

  Review employee hours, time records, PTO, commissions, bonuses, and other compensation information.



• 
  

  Enter and maintain accurate employee and payroll information.



• 
  

  Assist with payroll adjustments and corrections.



• 
  

  Verify payroll information for accuracy before processing.



• 
  

  Maintain confidential payroll and employee records.



• 
  

  Assist with payroll-related reports and documentation.



• 
  

  Help organize receipts, invoices, and other administrative financial records.



• 
  

  Communicate with management regarding payroll questions or discrepancies.



• 
  

  Assist with new-hire payroll paperwork and employee information.



• 
  

  Maintain organized electronic files and documentation.



• 
  

  Assist with basic accounting and administrative tasks as needed.



• 
  

  Follow company procedures and maintain strict confidentiality.



• 
  

  Meet payroll deadlines consistently.

Qualifications

• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent.



• 
  

  No prior payroll experience required; training will be provided.



• 
  

  Strong attention to detail.



• 
  

  Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets.



• 
  

  Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.



• 
  

  Excellent organizational and time-management skills.



• 
  

  Strong written and verbal communication skills.



• 
  

  Dependable internet connection and a suitable home-office environment.



• 
  

  Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.



• 
  

  Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  

  Previous administrative, bookkeeping, accounting, or data-entry experience.

  Payroll experience is a plus but not required.



• 
  

  Familiarity with payroll or accounting software such as QuickBooks, ADP, Gusto, Paychex, or similar platforms.



• 
  

  Experience working remotely.



• 
  

  Interest in real estate, accounting, finance, or business administration.
