About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Collection and Processing to lead the development and expansion of recycling systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies that meet regulatory recycling targets, with a focus on increasing material access and supporting the use of new sorting and recycling equipment. This role requires a strong operational background in the recycling industry, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in team leadership. The VP will also oversee material data acquisition, including waste composition analysis, and support downstream reporting requirements across multiple states. Key responsibilities for the VP include strategic planning and development of collection and processing initiatives, collaboration with various teams on regulatory targets, and the identification and implementation of best practices to meet industry standards. The role also involves engaging with recycling and materials trade associations, service providers, and other key stakeholders to support the development and implementation of materials collection and processing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of recycling principles, experience in sortation improvements, and a strong understanding of Extended Producer Responsibility. They should be detail-oriented, possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and have the ability to lead and engage strong teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. An advanced degree in a relevant field and at least 10 years' operational experience in MRFs or recycling facilities are required, along with a minimum of 3 years' in a management role.
