Reports to Maintenance Manager; Works in an Industrial Manufacturing setting; Actively problem-solves and works in partnership with production operators.


Job dimensions

• Responsible for safely inspecting, monitoring, and maintaining our plant systems and equipment. This includes pumps, motors, gearboxes, chillers, process heaters, and all associated instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot issues in partnership with our production operators and take corrective actions needed to deliver a reliable operation

Activities

• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and generate work orders for repair as needed
• Repair/rebuild/maintain valves, pumps, chillers, and other process equipment
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues using a methodical approach
• Install new equipment and support capital project activities
• Participate in 5S, root cause problem solving, and other continuous improvement activities
• Follows written instructions and standard operating procedures with minimal supervision
• Supports all manufacturing operations as appropriate on assigned shifts
• Follows proper procedures for the handling, storage and transfer of hazardous waste
• Use of hand and power tools as well as slings/rigging equipment
• Operates fork truck, scissor lift, boom lift, as needed / applicable to the specific operation
• Follows written instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoots and repairs all manufacturing/facilities equipment on a timely basis to minimize equipment downtime
• Uses EAM System to maintain maintenance records, parts inventory, and other pertinent information.

Context and environment

• Bostik is an OSHA Process Safety Management facility and our process involves hazardous chemicals. All PPE requirements must be followed at all times.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Works collaboratively with all department employees to solve problems and to ensure a quality product is produced.
• Work in a fast-paced production environment where safety, accuracy, and attention to detail is required.
• Works well in high pressure situations with competing priorities.
• Works with minimal supervision.
• Use of computer for work order processing and training.

Accountabilities

• Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.
• Maintains good housekeeping practices.
• Complete all mandatory company safety training requirements: 4S, Safety Observations, Pure Safety
• Document all activities in work order system and communicate progress
• Understand equipment failures and put actions in place to improve and prevent repeat issues
• Responsiveness to production and other customers along with problem solving and learning

• Willingness to learn complex electro-mechanical systems
• Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Familiarity with industrial control systems (single loop controllers, PLCs)
• Reduce repeat failures to lower costs and improve productivity
• Work with production/operations and have knowledge of Bostik products and equipment. Understanding maintenance processes, applications, and terminology related to manufacturing. Daily use of hand and power tools. Must safely repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry systems. Basic welding, millwrighting, and blueprint and schematic reading.

Qualifications / experience required

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required
• Some technical training or college preferred
• Industrial process maintenance experience highly valued
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience preferred but not required
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must demonstrate sound decision-making and problem-solving ability.
• Basic computer skills
