Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Lancaster, New York, where you will collaborate with a skilled team of healthcare professionals. Your work will primarily take place in an environment dedicated to pain management, where you will engage in direct patient care and support operational processes aimed at fostering a nurturing atmosphere for both staff and patients alike. Our schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients presenting with acute and chronic pain conditions to develop effective treatment strategies.
• Utilize your expertise in prescribing appropriate non-narcotic medications, physical therapy, and diagnostics such as imaging to address patients' needs.
• Develop individualized care plans that account for each patient's unique circumstances and treatment goals and regularly monitor their progress.
• Document assessments, treatments, and follow-ups meticulously in patient charts to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care and optimize outcomes.
• Address and manage patient concerns and complications, ensuring a patient-centered approach in all interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse range of patients primarily suffering from chronic pain conditions, such as back pain, arthritis, neuropathy, and post-surgical pain. Your focus will be on promoting their recovery and enhancing their quality of life through effective pain management strategies. By fostering strong patient-provider relationships, you will play a vital role in understanding the psychosocial aspects of pain and its impact on daily living.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field is required.
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant is a must.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly in pain management or a related specialty, is preferred.
• Strong ability to conduct physical examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for effective collaboration with patients and staff.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in the pain management specialty, including familiarity with various treatment modalities, is advantageous.
• Skill in performing ultrasound-guided procedures would be beneficial.
• A proven track record of quality patient interactions and successful treatment outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
