Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility and evening shift availability.

Details

• 68-bed Emergency Department in a busy urban hospital designated as a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and STEMI center
• Evening shift: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change based on surge and other circumstances
• High-acuity environment serving trauma, pediatric, stroke, and burn patients, with 200+ patients per day
• EMR: Epic
• No float requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Weekends required as determined by facility
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — must hold a Missouri RN license or be eligible for MO licensure (MO or compact state license accepted)
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC; NIHSS certification required prior to start (candidates may be considered without it if obtained before start date)
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 Trauma facility — experience level must be reflected on the resume
• No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and perform physical patient care including lifting and transporting patients

Additional Information

• Performs direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using the nursing process
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• Trauma and pediatric experience preferred; high-acuity and high-volume ED experience is a plus
• Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted
• RTO (up to 5 days) must be made up during the assignment; no RTO will be approved during the first week, and only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to local candidate bill rate terms
