Contract (13 or 26-week options available) | Nights, 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48-hour weekly options available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit serving Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown patients, with a specialized focus on neurology and neurosurgery populations including strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, and brain and spinal cord tumors
• Manage patient loads in accordance with unit ratios: MS/Tele 1:5 days / 1:6 nights (up to 1:7 nights in rare circumstances); Stepdown 1:3–4 days and nights
• Administer and monitor IV drips across all assigned floors; drip competency is required on all units
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units and campuses as required
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, swoop/paramedics, and LPNs where assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if license is not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled approximately six weeks out)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting; experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center required for first-time travelers to be considered
• Demonstrated proficiency with IV drips
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must be prepared to float frequently to various units to meet hospital staffing needs
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in neurology or neurosurgery patient populations
• Experience with long-term EEG monitoring or caring for complex neurological conditions
• Familiarity with stepdown-level care and mixed-acuity unit environments
