Paralegal / Legal Assistant – Litigation & Personal Injury

About the Opportunity

A well-established Long Island law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join its busy litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who is comfortable handling a fast-paced caseload and working closely with attorneys.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting litigation matters, with a background in Medical Malpractice, No-Fault, or Personal Injury considered a significant plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal and administrative support to attorneys.
• Assist with managing an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Track case deadlines, court dates, filings, and other important litigation events.
• Assist with discovery, including organizing medical records, bills, reports, and other case materials.
• Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, courts, and other parties as needed.
• Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and physical case files.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation and other case-related projects.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Perform other legal support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred.

• Litigation experience strongly preferred.

• Medical Malpractice experience is a major plus.

• No-Fault experience is a major plus.

• Personal Injury experience is a major plus.

• Experience with pleadings, discovery, court filings, and case management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a legal team.
• Strong computer and document-management skills.

• Paralegal certificate or college degree is a plus, but relevant experience will be considered.
