As Line Cook, you'll play an important role in supporting hotel operations, delivering exceptional service, and helping our team achieve its operational and business goals.

The pastry cooks responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces and special request items.

What you'll do:

• Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs
• Prepare of a variety of baked goods
• Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
• Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
• Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
• Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
• Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them
• Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends

Qualifications & requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred for supervisory roles
• Previous food and beverage or hospitality experience preferred; requirements vary by position
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices appropriate to the role
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed

Physical requirements:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, reach, stoop, and lift throughout the workday
• Lift, carry, push, and pull food, beverage, equipment, and supplies as needed
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds depending on the position
• Work in hot, cold, wet, or otherwise varying environments as required

Technology & systems:

• Experience with the following is preferred: Point-of-Sale (POS) systems
• Inventory or ordering systems
• Property Management Systems (PMS)
• Microsoft Office Suite
