Payroll Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Payroll Accountant for one of our customers located in Santa Clara, California. This position is 100% in-office! The ideal candidate will have strong payroll skills and have excellent general ledger abilities. This position will report to the Controller and be a part of a small team. The role be responsible for managing a biweekly payroll of 100 employees and supporting general ledger month and year-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, assist with the audit preparation, and support with other duties in the accounting department as well as assigned projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field is required Payroll experience comfortable processing a biweekly payroll (Minimum 80 employees) Solid payroll foundation understanding Payroll Tax Regulations, Labor Cost Allocations, California Labor Laws Comfortable with your debits and credits and GAAPs (reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close) Industry experience in a Non-Profit is preferred Payroll software experience with Paycom is preferred. Proficiency with a third party payroll software platform such as ADP, Paylocity, UKG is good Software experience with Sage Intacct would be a plus Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel – Intermediate/Advanced) Excellent communications (verbal & written) Detailed, reliable, organized, and confidential Team player, able to multi-task, prioritize, gets the work done with a positive attitude Experience: 5 years of payroll experience and 2 years of general ledger accounting experience (Payroll Accountant, Payroll Specialist, Staff Accountant) Employment Type: Temp to Hire Pay Details: $43.00 to $46.00 per hour medical dental vision life insurance short-term disability additional voluntary benefits EAP program commuter benefits a 401K plan paid leave Paid Sick Leave any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law Holiday pay Our benefit offerings provide employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs.
