Job Description

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a manufacturing organization in Salinas, California on a Contract basis. This role is well suited for someone with at least 1 year of experience who is comfortable handling high-volume financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting timely payment collection. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to day-to-day accounting operations by combining strong data entry skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel and 10-key tools.

Responsibilities:
• Process customer invoices, post incoming payments, and keep receivable records current and accurate.
• Review account balances regularly to identify overdue items and follow up with customers regarding outstanding payments.
• Enter financial information efficiently using 10-key skills while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Reconcile payment activity and account details to resolve discrepancies in billing or cash application.
• Maintain organized documentation for transactions, collections activity, and account updates.
• Use Microsoft Excel to track receivables, prepare reports, and support routine accounting analysis.
• Communicate with internal teams and external contacts to address payment questions and support collection efforts.• At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, payment posting, and collections follow-up.
• Strong data entry skills with the ability to use 10-key tools accurately and efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and reviewing financial information.
• Ability to manage credit and collections tasks with professionalism and sound judgment.
• High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal departments.
