Position Summary:

Prestige Trucking Insurance is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing core accounting functions, supervising and developing accounting staff, and leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements, and supporting internal and external audits. This position works closely with operations, IT, and leadership to enhance accounting processes, improve efficiency, and provide reliable financial insights that support informed business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, effective people leadership skills, and a disciplined, continuous-improvement mindset.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage and review month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial data through ongoing review, reconciliation, and documentation of all accounting records.
  • Will be preparing internal financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting documentation for audits or external reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and guarantee reliable financial information.
  • During audits will be preparing schedules, answering auditor inquiries, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members by providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Assign and coordinate daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow across AP, AR, and other accounting functions.
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑accuracy work environment focused on continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain and optimize accounting systems, support system upgrades, and reinforce data integrity.
  • Standardize procedures and documentation to support consistent and scalable accounting operations.
  • Work closely with operations and department managers to provide financial insights, resolve accounting issues, and support business initiatives.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate historical data and trend analyses.
  • Support inventory management processes, cost tracking, and accounting for variances as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting processes such as monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
  • Experience maintaining internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, explain variances, and prepare management‑ready schedules and reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including assigning tasks, reviewing work, coaching staff, and managing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time‑management skills in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred
  • CPA or CMA certification (active or in progress).
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA with an accounting concentration.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, service environments, or other relevant industries.
  • Experience with ERP system implementations, migrations, or advanced reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot).
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), multi‑entity or multi‑state accounting, sales/use tax, or payroll accounting.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, costing methods, and margin analysis (if applicable).
  • Experience coordinating audits, including public accounting or internal audit exposure.
  • Demonstrated ability to standardize processes, shorten close timelines, and automate accounting workflows.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with Operations, HR, and IT departments.
  • Bilingual abilities if relevant to the workforce or customer base.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Continually required to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or reviewing financial documents.
  • The noise level is moderate and typical of a busy office environment.
  • Position is fully on‑site; remote work is not available for this role.
  • Office‑based position with standard business hours.
  • Occasional extended hours required during month‑end, quarter‑end, year‑end close, audits, or system/process rollouts.
  • Limited travel may be required for training, vendor meetings, or collaboration with other company locations.
Standard business hours are typically from 9am-6pm.
