Accountant SeniorThe Accountant Senior is responsible for accounting and financial reporting functions of assigned entities, activities, and/or service lines. The position ensures that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all company financial policies, and with generally accepted accounting principles. Responsibilities include month end and year end close process, general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations, audit preparation assistance, and journal entry preparation.ResponsibilitiesPerforms accounting function for assigned entities, activities and/or service lines, with minimal supervision.Prepares schedules and analysis for various items including, but not limited to audits and budgets.Examines accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.Demonstrates full cycle experience to include but not limited to month end and year end close process, general ledger balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, audit, budget, and journal entry preparation.Ensures monthly financial reporting schedule is met; this includes ensuring that the financial statements are timely, accurate, that all accounts are reconciled and that all relevant detail is distributed to management on a timely basis.Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.Assists departmental leaders and the budget team in development of operational budgets, interpreting and reporting on variances from assigned areas.Assists in preparing financial reports and presentation materials for distribution to management and other stakeholders.QualificationsMinimum EducationAssociates Degree Accounting, Business, Finance, Related field Required orTwo years of related experience in lieu of associate's degree.
