About the Position

Job Title: RN - Psych Profession: RN Specialty: Psychiatric Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in psychiatric nursing License: Required Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care Strong interpersonal and de-escalation communication skills Ability to work collaboratively Solid written and oral communication skills Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels Experience with physical restraints and medication administration Comfortable running group therapy sessions (not required) Knowledge of documentation procedures Description: Provide patient care to psychiatric patients as directed by a registered nurse according to the treatment plan. Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and family members through participation in treatment programs. Work with a team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Provide direct patient care for adults with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and suicidal ideation. Maintain patient safety and respond to emergencies as needed. Participate in de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors. Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately. Collaborate with support staff to ensure a high level of care. Participate in patient care and treatment planning discussions. Assist in the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed. Provide education and support to patients and their families. Contribute to the unit culture of patient-centered care and teamwork.
