Victor’s Café, a high-volume fine dining Cuban restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking a skilled and reliable Sous Chef to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining kitchen standards and ensuring smooth execution of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily kitchen operations and service execution.
- Work the line and lead by example in a high-paced environment.
- Oversee ordering, inventory control, and food cost management.
- Supervise, train, and schedule back-of-house staff.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health and safety standards.
- Responsible for closing the restaurant.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant.
- Strong culinary skills with an eye for consistency and presentation.
- Experience managing BOH labor and product costs.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
