Molecular Virology Lead Technician - (7989) Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a Molecular Virology Lead Technician to support the members at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award. The salary range for this exempt position has been established at: $85,000 - $95,000 . The above salary range represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Responsibilities Provide support with laboratory experiments in BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories and must hold and maintain BPRP status, in accordance with the provisions in this contract and applicable regulations. Work with controlled substances and must hold and maintain CS-PRP status, in accordance with the provisions of this contract and applicable regulations. Aid in the execution of scientific studies, basic cell culture, plaque assays, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and other assays, animal procedures, collection/data analysis, assist in the preparation of technical reports, standard operating procedures, and manuscripts relating to research efforts, and maintain laboratory equipment. Serve as BSL-3 and/or BSL-4 mentor as needed. Support CONUS/OCONUS travel for approved studies and presentation of scientific research. Prepare and participate in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratory inspections conducted by Safety, Bio‑surety, CDC, and/or the Department of Army Inspector General at a minimum of four times a year. Support 20‑25 non‑human primate studies and 40‑50 rodent studies per year, performing inoculations with virus, collecting tissue for processing, conducting bleedings, performing Complete Blood Count (CBC), general chemistries, coagulation assays and other clinical laboratory assays on animal samples. Perform basic cell culture, plaque assays, plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT), PCR and other assays to support non‑human primate and rodent studies; proficiency required in neutralization assays for a variety of viruses; workload approximately 650 plates/assays per month. Perform in vitro testing of candidate vaccines and therapeutic compounds against a variety of viruses; workload 100‑200 plates/assays per month. Perform immunological procedures including enzyme‑linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Western Blot assays; may perform up to 150 assays per month. Perform flow cytometric analysis of cellular populations independently on multiple flow cytometry machines in BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories; approximate workload 100 tubes/samples per month. Assess and maintain laboratory supplies in BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories; order supplies using GFEBS and/or DMLSS ordering system; anticipated workload 15‑20 orders per month. Provide the TPOC with a Research Technical Report no later than the last day of each week. CS‑PRP enrollment required and must be held and maintained in accordance with this contract and applicable regulations. BPRP enrollment required and must be held and maintained in accordance with this contract and applicable regulations. Travel Requirements 10‑25% Job Requirements A minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Ability to work under deadline pressure, handle stress and deliver professional results. Long hours and weekends may be required to meet deliverables. Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Self‑motivated with minimal oversight. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Some travel may be required.
