Business Development Specialist

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within commercial, industrial, and/or infrastructure construction markets
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including owners, developers, architects, and subcontractors
• Leverage industry knowledge to position the company for upcoming projects, bids, and negotiated work
• Collaborate with estimating, project management, and operations teams to support proposals and presentations
• Track and manage opportunities through the full sales cycle-from lead generation through contract award
• Attend industry events, networking functions, and association meetings to build brand presence
• Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and project pipelines to inform business strategy
• Support RFP/RFQ responses, including scope development, pricing strategy, and client presentations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction (project management, estimating, field supervision, or similar)
• 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing role preferred
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, contracts, and project delivery methods
• Proven ability to build relationships and close new business
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated with a proactive, hunter mentality

Preferred Background

• Experience with a general contractor, subcontractor, or construction management firm
• Existing network within the construction or real estate development community
• Familiarity with CRM systems and pipeline tracking
