Chief Financial Officer

Are you a VP / Director of Finance ready for the CFO seat? Maybe a CFO looking for a bigger/faster growing operation?? This twenty-five year healthcare organization is experiencing growth (4x over 5 years) and looking for a CFO due to a recent merger.
We are searching for an Chief Financial Officer to lead Accounting and Finance departments within a 1000 person healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have the ability to re-shape these departments to better shape future growth.
Responsibilities:
- Labor & Staffing Costs: Monitor overtime, premium pay, and staffing models
- Purchasing & Supply Chain: Standardize procurement for high-turnover medical disposables, medications, and PPE.
- Contract Negotiation: Reviewing the financial terms for accuracy
- Financial Resilience: Ensure robust working capital and cash reserves are maintained to weather disruptions, delayed reimbursements, or seasonal spikes in call volume
- Medical Revenue Cycle Team: Oversight
- Cost Per Transport Calculations: Benchmark the fully loaded cost of every dispatch
- Payor Mix Monitoring: Analyze the distribution of transports across private pay, commercial, and government payors to forecast revenue accurately and manage self-pay risk.
- Average Revenue Per Transport (ARPT): Optimize billing tiers (Basic Life Support vs. Advanced Life Support) and track this metric alongside regional fee schedules.
- Fleet & Asset Utilization: Track capacity utilization and maintenance cycles, balancing vehicle depreciation against repair costs and replacement lifespans.
- Regulatory & Audit Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to fraud prevention, and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's Degree like an MBA is strongly preferred).
- Senior Leadership: 7+ years of progressive financial management experience
- Industry Background: EMS/Healthcare Industry experience preferred
- Scale: Proven experience managing operations within an organization of comparable operating budget
- Regulatory Compliance: Mastery of healthcare regulations, specifically navigating Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursement guidelines.
- Subsidiaries & Funding: Experience modeling and justifying operational subsidies
