Job Title: Staff AccountantReports To: ControllerPay Range: $60,000 - $70,000Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our growing team at a private equity–backed home services company. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be a key contributor to day-to-day accounting operations while helping drive process improvements, ensure GAAP compliance, and standardize practices across a multi-entity, acquisition-driven platform.This is a hands-on role that will actively participate in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, while identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency, and scalability across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesCore AccountingSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesPrepare journal entries, including accruals, and perform account reconciliationsAssist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reportingMaintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entitiesEnsure all accounting activities are performed in accordance with GAAPAP / AR (Hands-On Execution & Improvement)Actively participate in day-to-day AP and AR activities, including invoice processing, billing, collections, and vendor paymentsSupport and help manage AP and AR workflows across multiple locationsMonitor AR aging and collaborate with operations to improve collections reducing DSOEnsure timely and accurate vendor payments while maintaining strong controlsIdentify inefficiencies and implement process improvements in invoicing, collections, and disbursementsAssist in standardizing AP/AR procedures and evaluating automation opportunitiesAccruals, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementIdentify inconsistencies or gaps in accrual-based accounting practices across entitiesRecommend and implement corrective actions to ensure proper revenue and expense recognitionProactively identify opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in financial reportingDevelop and document standardized accounting policies and procedures (SOPs)Strengthen internal controls and support audit readinessStandardization & IntegrationSupport the integration of newly acquired companies into the accounting infrastructureDrive consistency in chart of accounts, policies, and reporting practices across entitiesPartner with field teams to align operational processes with accounting standardsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2-5+ years of accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP, including accrual accounting principlesHands-on experience with AP and/or AR functionsProficiency in Excel and accounting systems (NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.)Experience identifying and correcting accrual and revenue/expense recognition issuesExposure to process improvement or system implementationsKey CompetenciesStrong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completenessProcess-oriented with a continuous improvement mindsetWillingness to be hands-on while also thinking strategicallyEffective communication across finance and operations teamsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environmentWhy Join UsHigh-impact, hands-on role with visibility to leadershipOpportunity to help build and standardize accounting in a growing platformExposure to M&A and operational scaling in a PE-backed environmentCollaborative, performance-driven culture #J-18808-Ljbffr
