Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantSalary: $90-$105k base plus bonusOverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Northern NJ. Construction background is a big plus but not required.ResponsibilitiesMaintain the general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close.Generate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.Resolve account reconciliation variances.Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.Review monthly financials for unusual trends, fluctuations, and inconsistencies.Perform monthly variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.Develop recurring financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs.Compile financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.Identify opportunities to improve processes.Evaluate job cost reports for accuracy and proper allocation.Investigate cost variances.Assist with WIP schedules and project performance reporting.Maintain and distribute Time & Material and Change Order pricing schedules.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceConstruction background is a big plus but not required.Strong Excel skills
