Accounts receivable specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to support finance operations for client opportunities in the Greater Tampa Bay area. This role is responsible for overseeing the full AR lifecycle-from cash application and billing reconciliation to resolving complex client discrepancies and managing high-volume business-to-business (B2B) collections.

Responsibilities

• Collections Management: Conduct proactive outreach via phone and email to business accounts to negotiate payment terms and resolve past-due balances.
• Cash Application: Post daily incoming cash, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments to proper accounts accurately and efficiently.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Partner with sales, billing, and operations departments to research and clear deductions, short payments, and billing disputes.
• Account Reconciliation: Maintain ledger accuracy by performing monthly AR account reconciliations and aging report analyses.
• Credit Analysis: Assist with credit checks for new clients, setting credit limits, and reviewing account holds as needed.
• Reporting: Prepare weekly aging reports and update management on high-risk accounts and expected cash inflows.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 2-5+ years of dedicated Accounts Receivable and B2B Collections experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or QuickBooks) and intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
• Communication: verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service-oriented approach to dispute resolution.
