Assistant Aquatics Manager

Job Summary UCSF Aquatics delivers a variety of aquatics programming across three pools across two campuses, including swim lessons, lifeguard services, and water exercise. We are seeking an Assistant Aquatics Manager to lead the lifeguard staff and oversee program operations. Requirements: year‑round availability and proof of certifications. Required Certifications American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid American Red Cross CPR/AED for Lifeguards American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor (active or within 1 year of hire) American Red Cross First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22) (active or within 1 year of hire) American Red Cross First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22) Instructor (active or within 1 year of hire) Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of over 50 lifeguards, coaches, and instructors. Coordinate staffing schedules, recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training. Oversee daily operations of all UCSF pools, including risk management, chemical balance, and maintenance. Develop and implement compliance and certification programs. Analyze program performance, recommend improvements, and collaborate with other recreation units. Support promotion and engagement efforts to increase member participation. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of activity or completion of each listed certification.
