Help Desk Technician

Overview:

We're currently hiring a Help Desk Technician for a 2nd shift position in Newport News, VA.

Description:

• Performs a variety of duties in support of a computer, network (LAN/WAN), and/or client server environment.

• Processes and monitors production batch job processing in a multi-system environment.

• Observes equipment and processes via monitoring software and monitors consoles for operator messages or error indicators.

• May perform clerical work incidental to machine operations such maintaining production records, data center and visitor badging logs, and team shift reporting.

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.

• AS Degree. If no degree, high school diploma and 2 years of relevant experience.

• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Control-M, Tivoli and Network Manager or equivalent.

• Familiarity with a ticketing system (i.e., SMAX, HPSM)

• Good verbal and written communications required for gathering/supplying details about job failures from/to analysts and communicating with management and team leads.

Additional Information:

• 2nd shift, 3:30pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
