Job Description
Registered Nurse - Oncology Telemetry

Schedule

Shift: Days/Nights Only (possible 12-hour rotating assignment; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks)

Assignment Details

Unit type: Oncology telemetry with progressive care unit (36 beds; >24 PCU)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year PCU experience (high-acuity PCU experience required)
• Current/valid compact or state RN license at time of submission
• References: 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be a manager/supervisor
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, NIH/NIHSS
• Charting system: Epic
• Key clinical skills: Telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation; central/PICC/peripheral line care; blood product administration; accessing ports; starting/maintaining IVs; feeding tube care; tracheostomy care/management; high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), CPAP/BiPAP; chest tubes; PCA management; ABG interpretation

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and vital signs
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on disease management and self-care
• Participate in infection prevention and fall prevention protocols

Compliance / Notes

COVID-19 vaccination not required; flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only). Credentialing notes include strict compliance and fingerprinting deadlines.
