Overview The Supervisor, Accounting plays a key leadership role within the finance department, overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position is responsible for supervising a team of accounting professionals, managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, and supporting audits and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative leadership style to drive efficiency and maintain high standards of financial stewardship. You will report to Controller directly; you will be required to work onsite at least 3 days per week on hybrid schedule at Powerblanket office located at 3130 S 1030 W #1, Salt Lake City, UT 84119. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and journal entries. Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and reports. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries. Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, operations, and external partners. Assist with ad hoc reports requested by the controller and leadership team. Key Characteristics, Competencies and Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
