General Function Responsible for profitable business development and monitoring the quality of an extensive existing portfolio of companies with annual gross sales of at least 10 million dollars, with greater emphasis on customers with higher revenues (20 million dollars or more). Lead and coordinate with One Bank Partners to create and implement a relationship strategy for assigned clients and prospects. Must have a strong understanding of credit, commercial products, and financial statement analysis to offer beneficial banking solutions such as loans, treasury management, and capital markets based on client needs. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience working with high‑revenue, complex relationships, soliciting participation in public debt issuance for clients, and engaging in community activities. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. Accountable for acting with integrity toward customers and colleagues, ensuring a positive customer experience, and managing risk within the bank’s appetite. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Identify and develop profitable new "lead left" client relationships by leveraging centers of influence, existing clients, and referral sources. Develop and implement a business plan to achieve financial goals and qualitative measures. Work closely with Fifth Third internal partners to deepen existing relationships and acquire new prospective relationships. Attend community and industry forums, conferences, and meetings to broaden network, referral sources, and knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape. Collaborate with product partners (Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, etc.) to analyze, evaluate, and develop a tailored relationship strategy for each client or prospect. Ensure that customer relationships maximize opportunity while balancing risk and customer needs. Meet with customers regularly to enhance the trusted advisor relationship and ensure business needs are met. Utilize consultative selling skills, commercial playbook principals, and call reporting plans to enhance the client experience. Use the bank’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track client activity, call reports, and pipeline. Analyze financial information to determine the appropriate credit request. Monitor customer financial performance, condition, and industry trends to ensure credit exposure remains at acceptable risk and is priced accordingly. Partner with Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers on credit requests and adhere to established portfolio management guidelines. Supervisory Responsibilities No formal supervisory responsibilities. Expected to provide guidance to Commercial RM I & II. Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent work experience preferred. Minimum of 6 years commercial banking experience, with at least 5 years of sales experience preferred. Formalized commercial credit training or equivalent credit experience required. Underwriting experience preferred. Proven track record of partnering with investment bankers to provide strategic and capital market advice. Proven ability to build new and existing client business, increasing revenue and delivering a positive client experience. Strong business acumen, including detailed financial statement analysis and accounting principles. Thorough knowledge of commercial, treasury management, and alternative lending and financing options. Ability to assess client needs, profitability drivers, and corporate/personal life cycle to optimize financial solutions. Effective communication skills for diverse audiences, capturing attention and tailoring detail. Ability to build strong internal partnerships to provide holistic solutions for clients’ business and personal goals. Proven track record of identifying and understanding business issues, problems, and opportunities, and creating relevant options to achieve outcomes. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in face‑to‑face negotiations. Proven ability to work in a team‑based sales environment. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software; familiarity with prospecting and CRM sales tools preferred. Regional/local travel. Working Conditions Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and similar conditions. Extended viewing of CRT screen. Frequent travel possible depending on assignment. Commercial Relationship Manager III Location – Doral, Florida 33166 Salary and Incentives The base salary for this position reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range vary based on role, skill set, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
