The organization is seeking an Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled nursing care in an acute care setting. The role involves working in a fast-paced emergency environment with variable patient needs, including trauma and time-sensitive cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with shift time of Nights; minimum 36 hours per week. Start times include 3pm and 7pm.
• Required Qualifications: Current Michigan (MI) RN license (license required at submission); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (American Heart Association (AHA)); Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA)); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (American Heart Association (AHA)); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience.

• Additional Information:
  • Weekend requirements include working every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Holiday requirements include working 2/3 at least for winter needs; otherwise typically every other during the contract.
  • Shift notes indicate 12-hour shifts with variable start times (3pm, 7pm).
  • Clinical environment details include variable ED volume (4060 patients per day, on average) and typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:34 during the day, with lower ratios after 11pm; after 3am, typically 2 RN until 7am.
  • Duties include providing 24/7 coverage across tasks, with support staff roles including patient care assistants (PFE/CNA), medics, and LPNs (no team structure in the ER; floats to task as needed).
  • Monitoring and diagnostics support include central monitoring with RN oversight, with X-ray available down the hall and computed tomography (CT) accessible 24/7.
  • Phlebotomy is available 24/7 for lab draws.
  • Department orientation includes computer-based training and 2 days of floor orientation, including policies and additional department-specific orientation.
