Project Overview


We are seeking Legal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with strong understanding of US legal frameworks and contract structures to support a pilot evaluation project.


The engagement involves analyzing and evaluating legal questions while ensuring legal language accuracy, clarity, and adherence to US-style contractual standards.


This pilot phase will initially focus on a smaller dataset and will scale significantly across multiple domains after successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze legal content using structured legal reasoning
• Ensure terminological accuracy and legal precision in responses
• Identify potential ambiguities or loopholes in legal language
• Contribute to the development of evaluation rubrics and grading criteria for legal assessments
• Provide expert judgment aligned with US contract law standards
• Ensure consistency and clarity in legal definitions and interpretations

Evaluation Dimensions (Legal Expertise Required)


The project focuses on assessing legal language using the following dimensions:


Terminological Exhaustiveness

• Ensure every legal term or noun has a clear, singular, and legally binding definition
• Prevent ambiguity or interpretational loopholes

Passive Voice Formality

• Use of formal legal tone and passive constructions where appropriate
  (e.g., "It is hereby agreed" vs. "We agree")

Syntactic Precision

• Ensure sentence structures prioritize logical relationships between clauses
• Maintain legally precise and enforceable language

Rubric Development

• SMEs will collaborate to help define evaluation rubrics and grading criteria for legal assessments

Requirements

• Strong familiarity with US legal systems and contract drafting standards
• Experience reviewing or drafting US-style legal contracts or legal documentation
• Ability to analyze legal language with high precision and clarity
• Prior experience as a Legal SME, Legal Analyst, Contract Specialist, or Legal Researcher is preferred
• Comfortable working on structured evaluation platforms such as Ulabel
