Director, Legal Operations, Governance & Security About the Opportunity We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Legal Operations, Governance & Security to create a consistent enterprise framework across contracts, contractor lifecycle management, legal operations, privacy and security governance, compliance, and risk. This highly visible role will serve as a central partner to business leaders, Finance, Talent, IT, outside counsel, brokers, auditors, and security providers. This is an ideal opportunity for a practical legal operations leader who enjoys bringing structure to complex, cross-functional work. The successful candidate will develop scalable processes, improve accountability, and help the organization move quickly while managing legal, operational, privacy, security, and compliance risk. What You'll Do Lead legal operations and contract governance: Manage contract intake, review coordination, redlines, templates, signature workflows, repositories, renewals, obligations, and process standardization. Coordinate legal matters and outside counsel: Oversee matter intake, outside counsel relationships and spend, corporate governance support, employment matters, intellectual property filings, disputes, and acquisition-related diligence and integration. Own contractor lifecycle governance: Build and manage consistent processes for contractor requests, classification, agreements, onboarding requirements, insurance documentation, active engagement oversight, renewals, offboarding, and final payment coordination. Guide privacy and security governance: Maintain policies, coordinate data protection and retention practices, oversee client security questionnaires and evidence requests, and partner with IT and third-party providers on control implementation. Drive security assurance programs: Coordinate SOC 2 readiness and maintenance, security risk assessments, awareness training, audit evidence, remediation tracking, and executive reporting. Support enterprise risk management: Maintain the enterprise risk register, coordinate vendor and contractual risk reviews, manage broker and insurance activities, support claims administration, and assist with business continuity planning. Manage compliance programs: Oversee policy reviews, training and attestations, internal audit coordination, corrective actions, regulatory monitoring, HIPAA-related coordination, and compliance documentation. Build cross-functional alignment: Establish clear ownership, service levels, approval paths, and reporting across business, Finance, Talent, IT, and external partners. What You Bring Progressive experience in legal operations, contract lifecycle management, enterprise governance, compliance operations, or a related discipline. Demonstrated success designing and improving scalable, cross-functional processes. Experience coordinating outside counsel, legal matters, contract negotiations, and legal spend. Working knowledge of contractor classification, contracting, onboarding, insurance, engagement management, and offboarding workflows. Exposure to privacy and security governance, SOC 2, HIPAA, client security assessments, audit support, and evidence management. Familiarity with enterprise risk, vendor risk, insurance programs, broker relationships, or claims coordination. Strong judgment, organization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to translate complex legal, security, risk, and compliance requirements into practical business processes. Comfort operating in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment with multiple priorities and senior stakeholders. Preferred Experience Experience in a private equity-backed, healthcare, professional services, or technology-enabled organization. Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or rapidly scaling business operations.
