Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor in Atlanta, GA to provide the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area for an industrial and office facility. This is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM. Shift times may vary. The starting hourly rate is $16.00 per hour, depending on skills, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position includes a competitive benefits package. For more detailed information on benefits, visit Responsibilities Cleans and maintains buildings and facilities. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. Notifies managers of the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co‑workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers. Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities. Performs flexible work, completing all tasks assigned. Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Utilizes ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds, and select equipment; cleans ceilings, dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents. Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes, shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications. Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors. Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot‑cleaning treatment. Collects trash and empties appropriate trash and recycling bins. Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, and other kitchen equipment. Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures. Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms. Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. Maintains a neat janitor’s closet and keeps equipment in good working order. Monitors building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliance use to prevent hazards. Drives vehicles (if required) to travel to other facilities, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners. Provides special cleaning and support during client events, as needed. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED certificate. Relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning. Knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures (SDS, OSHA). Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location. Ability to work an alternative schedule, including weekends and some holidays. US citizenship or permanent residency required for facility credentials; the position does not sponsor U.S. work authorization. Valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (may be required). Physical and special requirements: repetitive motions (bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement); walk extensively; lift up to 30lbs.; work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions; differentiate colors for color‑coded microfiber cleaning cloths and mops; wear steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other personal protective equipment. Ability to cope with job demands and stressors in the workplace. Preferred Requirements Proficiency in English. Compensation The starting hourly rate is $16.00. The compensation range may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data. Actual compensation may differ after a hiring review.
