Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLicensed Funeral DirectorLocation: Spring, TX 77388Pay Rate: $50,000 - $70,000/ AnnuallyResponsibilitiesReceives or initiates call to deceased next of kinExhibiting concern and empathy, obtains or confirms deceased and family contact information, briefly discusses needs (including languages), schedules arrangement appointment, and emails appointment confirmationCares for deceased in a respectful mannerUpdates removal status in proprietary softwareGreets next of kin and escorts to the meeting spaceInitiates and facilitates arrangements conference while assessing needs and summarizing desired outcomesPromotes funeral, cemetery, and crematory services and merchandise such as catering, flowers, and musicResponsible for reviewing and authorizing merchandise and service contract revisionsPresides for visitation, funeral, or services in a professional, organized, and caring manner consistent with company standards and shall be present when cremains are placed in a grave, crypt, or burial vault and verifies that any personal belongings are removed from the deceased prior to the arrangementsVisually inspects Services Arrangements (visitation, funeral, or graveside) against contractual arrangements and the next of kin expectations; initiates corrective action as appropriate; may provide instruction or guidance to services team membersPerform a variety of planning responsibilities including but not limited to resource planning and ordering of music, flowers, or catering to fulfill arrangement requestsCreating products that may include scanning photos, ordering memorabilia or stationery, creating electronic presentations, writing obituaries, and creating on-line memorialsPrepare chapel/visitation room including but not limited to set-up chairs, tables, flowers, guest books, and appropriate décorMay perform a variety of attendant duties including but not limited to parking lot attendant, driver, pallbearer, or courierMay attend community or charity events to represent and promote the locationUpdates status on the property sheetMaintains preparation room, cleans soiled equipment, properly disposes of hazardous waste, and promotes a safe work environmentWorks under general guidanceExhibits accountability for behaviorsEnsures compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsAdjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or culturesAdditional responsibilities as requested or assignedMust be able to retain confidentialityAttire - professional business attire required when in contact with familiesPostures – Frequent continuous period sitting or standing up; frequently climbing stairs to access buildingsQualificationsCurrent Funeral Director license within the state of TexasCognitive ability includes following instruction, reasoning, planning, identifying problems, learning quickly, learning from experience, and appropriately applying learning to new situationsMust be able to learn company used softwareProcess and results oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead by removing obstacles and exploring alternativesMust have a positive attitude, a drive to continually advance your understanding of the industry and business, and is highly self-motivatedAbility to build professional and trusting business relationsProfessional written and verbal communication skillsPublic speaking skills with the ability to influence and gain consensusProficient using databases in automated processesProficient MS Office skillsAbility to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or rampsBilingual Spanish / English is a plusExperience working in a cremation center is a plus\nCompany DescriptionToday’s job market is ultra-complex.
