Position Overview

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking temporary Receptionists/Secretaries to assist at DMV offices throughout the Mid-Hudson Region.

• Peekskill district office address: 1045 Park St, Peekskill, NY 10566
• White Plains district office address: 1 Maple Ave, White Plains, NY 10601
• West Haverstraw district office address: 50 Samsondale Plz, West Haverstraw, NY 10993

Job Duties

• Greet and assist customers.
• Screen and process customer paperwork.
• Manage customer flow using the queuing system.
• Grade and record results of vision tests.
• Enter passing vision test results into the computer system.
• Provide guidance to customers using DMV self-service kiosks.
• Capture customer photos for driver's licenses.
• Proctor various DMV tests.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn windows based applications, and vendor based application to issue eye exams, check in customers, and screen paperwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a New York State Agency.
• Familiarity with DMV operations or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.

Misc. Info

• Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
• Interview will be conducted in-person.
