The Millennial Counseling Centre is actively looking for a dedicated and licensed mental health counselor to join our team as a full-time Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist. This remote position allows you to deliver specialized mental health services to individuals grappling with trauma and related mental health challenges. This role will be fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to conduct therapy sessions from your preferred location, while still being an integral part of our compassionate team. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' histories and determine effective treatment pathways.

• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique trauma recovery goals.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions focused on helping patients process their trauma, develop constructive coping strategies, and build resilience.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other health professionals to create an integrated care approach that comprehensively addresses each patient's needs.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention for patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and coping mechanisms, empowering them with knowledge and resources.

• Ensure all patient documentation is accurate, confidential, and complies with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in case consultations and participate in team meetings to discuss best practices and enhance trauma-informed care approaches.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually refine therapy techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will specifically focus on individuals who have experienced trauma, including those diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. Your approach will be centered on creating a supportive and validating space where clients can feel safe to express their challenges and work towards their healing processes.

Qualifications\n

• An accredited Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT within New York State.
\n
• Strong knowledge of trauma theory, trauma-informed treatment frameworks, and resilience-building techniques.
\n
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and digital tools for managing caseloads and patient documentation.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to develop rapport with clients while maintaining a compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is strongly preferred, especially within trauma-informed or community health settings.

• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies, particularly EMDR and TF-CBT, will distinguish your application.

Compensation and Benefits\n
