About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Estimating for Heavy Civil Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing executive leadership in the estimating and preconstruction functions, guiding bid strategy, and pricing for complex infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in determining the company's project pursuits and competitive positioning in the market. The Vice President of Estimating will work closely with executive leadership, operations, and business development teams to shape project pursuit strategy and support long-term company growth. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of senior estimators, establishing estimating standards, and overseeing the preparation of various bid estimates. The role also involves market engagement, participating in major client pursuits, and ensuring that the company's estimating and preconstruction processes align with its commitment to safety and technical expertise. Candidates for the Vice President of Estimating position should have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, with a preference for a Professional Engineer (PE) license or industry certifications. A minimum of 15 years' experience in heavy civil construction, particularly in estimating large and complex infrastructure projects, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of DOT procurement processes, experience with heavy civil estimating platforms, and the ability to evaluate risk, competitiveness, and project strategy at an executive level. Demonstrated leadership experience, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams are essential for this role.
