Customer Service Representative

Position Purpose: The primary function of a customer service representative is to provide exceptional customer service to all customers and employees. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Training on product knowledge of building materials for the drywall industry will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Provide professional phone, face-to-face, and written customer communications. Identify customer needs and opportunities, proactively resolves issues and provides creative, effective solutions that enhance the customer experience and strengthens relationships. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Sales and Operations, to address customer needs, resolve issues and ensure timely and effective solutions. Process customer orders accurately and efficiently through in-person, phone and other appropriate channels, while ensuring a seamless and positive customer experience. Utilize company systems and technology to accurately enter, update, and manage customer orders, ensuring timely processing and accurate information throughout the order lifecycle. Process customer sales transactions accurately and efficiently. including sales orders and cash purchases, while ensuring proper payment handling and adherence to company procedures Facilitate customer purchases from order through payment, ensuring accurate transactions, proper cash handling, and a seamless customer experience Develop product knowledge to assist customers. Direct Manager/Direct Reports: No direct reports and Reports to Operations Manager or Branch Manager Travel Requirements: This position may require occasional travel: less than 10% of time Physical Requirements: Remain in a stationary position in an office environment approximately 70% of the time. Occasionally move about the office. Operate basic office equipment Work primarily in an office environment. Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an office environment with the ability to work remotely or in a hybrid setting Minimum Qualifications: Ability to self-manage and interact comfortably with the public. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual preferred. Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred Education: Minimum Years of Work Experience: This is an entry level position- 1 year in related customer service Certifications: N/A Competencies: Ability to express ideas, thoughts, and information clearly, concisely, and respectfully, both verbally and in writing. Aptitude for managing tasks, time, and resources efficiently to meet objectives, with an emphasis on detail-orientation and ability to multitask. Applies critical thinking to understand issues, evaluate options, and develop practical solutions in daily tasks and branch operations. Proven ability to work productively in a team setting, showing respect for diverse perspectives and styles and willingness to contribute to group goals. Familiarity with modern office software and technologies, demonstrating the ability to utilize these tools to increase efficiency and productivity. Ability to adapt to changing work environments, showing willingness to learn new tasks. Initiative: Demonstrate a proactive mindset seeking out ways to help, taking ownership of tasks, and showing eagerness to learn without waiting for direction. Leverage active listening and customer insight to identify needs, uncover opportunities and drive a consistent exceptional customer experience. Work Location Onsite in Office/Virtual/Hybrid The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.08 to $29.38 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
