Project Controller

A well-established real estate development and hospitality group based in downtown Miami, with an active development pipeline and existing hotel operations, is seeking a Project Controller to own the financial backbone of its construction and development activity. This is a hands-on seat reporting directly to the CFO, with existing team support already in place, not a standalone role. What You'll Own: Full ownership of project-level accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and month-end close for active development projects Review and approval of contractor pay applications, lien waivers, change orders, and draw packages against contract terms, budgets, and lender requirements Preparation and submission of construction loan draws, working directly with lenders to keep funding on schedule Budget-to-actual variance analysis on active projects, flagging cost trends and risk before they become overruns Project-level cash flow monitoring and coordination of funding needs across development, finance, and executive leadership Coordination with lenders, investors, auditors, and contractors on reporting and compliance Quarterly reporting support for audits, tax compliance, and investor and lender requirements Driving process and reporting improvements as the accounting function scales with the development pipeline What We're Looking For: 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Real construction or development accounting background specifically, residential and condo experience is a strong plus Solid GAAP knowledge as it applies to construction and capital projects Comfortable owning job costing and capital project budgeting end to end Strong Excel skills and experience with construction/real estate accounting systems (QuickBooks, IES, Yardi, or similar) A collaborative, upbeat communicator who can work independently and cross-functionally with project managers and contractors, not just execute in isolation #J-18808-Ljbffr
